My Living Room Makeover

It took a long time to get to this point, but my living room is done. After 10 years in this house, I finally have a living room with some color, instead of beige, white, and brown.

I knew what I wanted. Sort of. But it wasn’t until mom and I went to watch my niece try on wedding dresses that the colors I should use presented themselves to me. We went to Hobby Lobby on the way home.

I have decided I was meant to shop at Hobby Lobby. Forever. Everything in that store screamed out DEBBIE WILL LOVE THIS!! It was my kind of style.

I started buying fabric and accessories and started a project I had been wanting to do for years.

Everything I bought to accessorize with came from Hobby Lobby! I bought a can of spray paint and painted the candle sticks above to match the turquoise of my color scheme. Those little buggers took two days to dry. If the spray paint can says “quick drying” that definition is subjective. Just so you’ll know.

Pillows are easy to make. Cut squares, make sure the two sides are positioned with the right side of the fabric facing each other. In others words, inside out. Then sew 3 of the 4 sides together. Turn right side out, stuff with poly fill, then hand sew the opening.

The most economical place I have found to buy poly fill is Walmart online. Buy it in bulk instead of those tiny little bags in the store. I bought three boxes and only used 2 1/2 of them, AND made 10 pillows.

My “beige” husband, who screams at color, is not loving my turquoise book case. I’m hoping it will grow on him because, it stays!

I’m happy

So very happy.
